Temporary 540-Day EAD Auto Extension Rule Set to Expire on 10/26/2023; Will Revert Back to 180-Days

Due to historically long processing times at USCIS for EAD extensions (Form I-765), the USCIS has been automatically extending a personโ€™s employment authorization for up to 540 days while their timely filed extension application was pending. This was an increase on the previous allotted time of 180 days. However, the 540-day automatic extension will soon expire on 10/26/2023 and will revert back to the 180-day automatic extension.
